Fun Fact: The illusion of the floor moving was not created by the actual floor moving itself. The walls themselves are all being moved around, and the camera is mounted to the wall. Also all in one take. Pretty incredible. 1996: cool song 2013 - 2022: jojo 2023: dancing walking, rearranging furniture "Cartermiroquai", also known as "Babs is Shopping", is a song featuring Carter Pewterschmidt from Family Guy rearranging furniture in his home. Throughout this film, I was captivated. The way that Carter dances at 2:37 is truly beautiful, it conveys a sense of freedom and not being bound by today's society. The way Carter Pewterschmidt walks at 1:51:08 also conveys a sense of freedom and shows the viewer that toxic relationships may not always be easy to walk out of but will also leave a sense of satisfaction once done. Moreover, the way that Pewterschmidt rearranges furniture at 3:28:32 is not only very well filmed, but also lets the viewer know that, like Carter, they can control their life and what will happen in the future. In addition, the way that Carter knows that Babs is shopping at 5:32:13, leaves him with a sense of loyalty and happiness, that he will be able to spend the rest of his life with someone who he truly cares about. Not only that, but it also shows the viewer that they shouldn't be with someone who doesn't care about loyalty and doesn't care about the feelings and emotions of their partner. Lastly, the sense of freedom is once again conveyed to the viewer, by showing Carter 'letting the bird out of the cage', which is a metaphor for Carter being able to let go of the downsides of life, and take advantage of life to its fullest, being able to almost spread his wings and go out into the world. In conclusion, "Cartermiroquai", also knows as "Babs is Shopping", conveys to the viewer that freedom and being able to control one's own life is one of the most essential parts of any persons wellbeing and good mental health. I have referenced this music video for years because of how amazing the song is and my love of the way that this video was filmed. Family Guy mentions it and it resurges in it's popularity.
